The story of ecosumo's success is as organic and beautifully unpredictable as the planet we intend to save. We want to keep it that way. Ultimately, ecosumo is about providing choice - we firmly believe that if you are given the choice between an environmentally safe product and one that is not, you'll choose the product that cares about your planet.
Where did they get the WEIRD name?
eco - concerned with living things in relation to their environment or habitat.
sumo - from Latin origin, meaning "to buy" or "to choose".
ecosumo - A place where people can make lifestyle choices through ecologically high-minded purchases that will benefit their environment or habitat.
What we are doing
We realize that some choices are un-avoidable. There are obvious environmental costs of doing business. We support whatever is possible to offset these effects. We reduce our waste, reuse what we can, recycle, and conserve energy in our everyday business practices as well of course as our personal lifestyles. All of our packaging is made from 100% recycled post consumer waste. We purchase carbon credits to offset our shipping and traveling impacts. We also invest in green technologies and non-profit green organizations. It is also very important that any employee of ecosumo is well-informed as to the choices they make. We are committed to being a carbon neutral, sustainable company.
